Day 4

Today was an exciting day, it was a rest day in a sense because we did not do any direct ministry, but rather were studying, fellowshipping, and preparing. What started off as a morning Phillipians devo turned into a thorough inductive study that consumed our entire morning. We meet new people and had some great conversations. We went into town for lunch, but since it was already close to dinner time we just got coffee instead. We went to a place called Costa Coffee and got Teramisu Lattes. The day ended with dinner with the pastor, which went over so we were not able to make it to the Christian Union BBQ / Roast a Christian event. Instead we had a great conversation about everything from dealing with problems in the Church to suspected appearances of Moses and Elijah in the Bible.

Day 3

Today we helped with the hot drinks with the Christian Union at the University. Afterwards we walked down to the food plaza and handed out tracts and CU event fliers. Next we were served a delightful breakfast by Ama. We rounded our day out by making more detailed plans about our teachings that are upcoming this week. Yet the day did not end until we were once again served a lovely dinner consisting of sausage, gravy, parsnips, and mashed potatoes. With an encore of Pumpkin Pie with a ginerbread crust, the perfect dessert for a day between Thanksgiving and Christmas. To conclude it was a day to experince the hospitality and love that knowing Christ can bring.

Day 2

We had a great day, we started off by helping the South Hampton University's Christian Union pass out hot Chocolate in promotion for their week of evangelistic events. We also walked around in shifts and prayed for the school. After this we spent time in town planning out what we were going to do over the next week. Finally we ended the day by going over to the pastor's house where he provided an amazing time, as well as some brilliant dinner.

In South Hampton

Hello friends!

We made it safely to London, England! After 17 hours of traveling, 12 in the sky, our mission has started. We started by going to church in Calvary Chapel London, however finding it proved to be a mission in its self. We found everything from a LA fitness to three Starbucks in a two block radius, as well as two Burger kings in one train station. We finally found the church... whoever said the churches in England are dead didn’t go to Calvary Chapel London, they had 45 minutes of straight worship! Pastor Alwyn not only is a great worship leader, he delivered a dynamic message on the endtimes, since we are expecting Jesus at any moment we should live Holy lives. We had a great talk with Alwyn afterwards and are greatly thankful for the work he is doing.

"Yeah, that's great and all, but where's the starbucks?"

London Victoria Station

Afterwards we headed down to South Hampton inspite of not having anyone's proper phone number for contact, Marty randomly called when we were on the train 30 minutes out of town (we thought his cellphone was not supposed to work here). He was just calling to ask when we were planning on coming to the UK. This gave him just enough time to get someone to drive down and pick us up. Oh the wonders of the depths of God's love for us. Marty and Ama say hi to everyone! We had a great night watching a movie with the church group, and had a theological disscusion afterwards, there was someone in my group who does not yet know Jesus, so it was an awesome oppurtunity for ministry.

Thank you for your prayers,
Jonathan and Kai
